Masako wants to learn how to build consensus.She is a strict school teacher.On the other hand,Satoko thinks that we should gather every opinions.She is a student of the English department.


Malcolm thinks that any discussion which no one has strong opinion is waste of time.He is an exchange student from New York and he is a student of the literature.

Jun is a student of the English literature.She is a sophomore.


There are two way of thinking.At first,good discussion has achievement of consensus without insisting our opinion.
Next,we need audience voice in the discussion in spite of the weak opinions.


We think we need both learn about how to achieve consensus and express our own opinion.In addition,we have to speak about question's reason based on resources so no matter how good moderator's skills are.

Then,how do we achieve consensus with opinions?For such occasions,you should have a gole of discusion and know why we discuss.
By doing this,we come up with best answer in the ordinary course of things.The best answer means consensus here.


Next,we discussed how to achieve consensus.Saying good opinion is duty for associate participant in the discussion.

Masako said to us that all members in the discussion should say their opinion and they should not change their opinion or decision by majority.

We think most of the associate participant in the discussion is shy,have not confident and do not play their role in the discussion.In addition,we all should have new way of thinking.


And another thing,we should recognize limited time.


Next,we talked about audience voice.All audiences have to express their opinion more.

Satoko said that she cannot have confidence in the topic.
Malcolm said that he does not know why people hesitate to express their own opinion because there are a lot of good opinion in their mind.
In addition,he thinks that audiences need more opinion to support their ideas.

June thinks that she turns in on herself so she want to be an active speaker.

Masako thinks that they all get point.


How about a point system?If you do not speak in the discussion,you lose point.However,in this system,we do not know why students express their opinion.Students are inposed by a teacher.The point system is nothing---childish way.There is no benefit and challenge.So we have to come up with the idea of how to make audiences active not by force.In addition,both introvert and outgoing person get points in the discussion.


After all,we think that all students should be evaluated by their participation.Every student should demonstrate their ability.


1.We should recognize limited time and strong opinion.
2.Every student should try to voice in the discussion.

    I think that formal discussion is like a game. As a game it has rules. If you play aggressively according to the rules, there is a good chance that you will come out succeful in the end. If you play passively, but shrewdly, you can also come out well in the end. But if you play against the rules, there's a good chance that you will be found out and expelled from the game.
